Valentine’s Day Recap

Last Tuesday, we got to celebrate Valentine’s day by going to Mission Convalescent Home and the Salvation Army Rehab Center where we were warmly welcomed by the residents. So instead of sitting, feeling sorry for ourselves, we got to go out and share God’s love with those who really need love since they’re forgotten by the rest of society. We had a wonderful time meeting people from all walks of life and the students got to present the Broken Heart Skit which was powerfully performed and brought tears to many. We then got to meet a lot of the people who live at the Rehab Center and hear their stories about how they got there and how God has taken their lives and made them new. It was such a powerful experience for many of us, especially given the fact that many of the guys were twice our size but after talking and getting to know them, we found out that they were really nice and easy to talk with. All in all, it was the best Valentine’s Day for all of us.
